MAYRA V. TARANTINO focuses her practice on complex commercial, intellectual property, and class action litigation. Ms. Tarantino has managed cases throughout every stage of litigation working closely with in-house counsel and business executives in preparation for trial. Ms. Tarantino has extensive written and oral motion practice, including appellate practice. Ms. Tarantino has also represented major companies in transactional and regulatory matters and has provided counsel with respect to various state and federal statutes and regulations. Represented matters include:
- Negotiated favorable settlement of federal antitrust and breach of contract claims against major energy company.
- Represented subsidiary of a major energy company in a breach of contract action before the American Arbitration Association.
- Obtained dismissal of consumer fraud class action suit brought against major public utility, including subsequent appeal to the New York Court of Appeals.
- Represented a class of consumers in a consumer fraud matter against a Global 500 company.
- Obtained favorable settlement of a FLSA class action matter involving Fortune 500 company.
Ms. Tarantino served as the law clerk to the Honorable W. Hunt Dumont, J.S.C., N.J. Superior Court, from 1998-1999 and the Honorable John J. Hughes, U.S.M.J., U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, from 1999-2000. Before joining the firm, Mr. Tarantino was an associate with LeBoeuf, Lamb, Greene & MacRae (now Dewey & LeBoeuf), in New Jersey and New York.
