MARISOL PEREZ concentrates her practice on healthcare and elder law, with an emphasis in the representation of skilled nursing and assisted living facilities. Her experience includes medicaid eligibility issues, elder and guardianship law, and collection of accounts receivables. In addition, Ms. Perez serves as Court Appointed Counsel in guardianship actions throughout the state of New Jersey. In that capacity she provides legal representation to the alleged incapacitated person. Ms. Perez has successfully litigated for clients in the Administrative Courts, as well as in Federal Court.
Before joining the firm, Ms. Perez was a Deputy Attorney General for the State of New Jersey where she focused on securites fraud litigation and represented the Bureau of Securities. She also clerked for Judge Susan L. Reisner, Superior Court of New Jersey, Law Division Civil Part,in Passaic County from 1998-1999.
Ms. Perez is an active member of the Elder Law Section of the New Jersey Bar Association and has been a panelist at the annual Elder Law & Disability Law Symposium. She is a past member of the John C. Lifland American Inn of Court and a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association; the Association of the Federal Bar of the State of New Jersey; and the Hispanic Bar Association. Ms. Perez also published the article "Syringe Exchange in Pennsylvania: A Legal Analysis", Temple Political and Civil Rights Law Review, Fall 1998, Vol. 8, No. 41. Ms. Perez is fluent in Spanish and serves as a mentor to law students through the Hispanic Bar Association.
